The Smart Tripod allows avid adventurers to capture convenient and perfectly centered photos when nobody is around to hold the camera for them. The product fits a standard tripod and, once turned on, will be able to track the movement of the individual while they take their time to find the perfect shot to capture the moment. A simple visual gesture will cue the Smart Tripod to take a photo and save it for future viewing. The device is also battery-powered, lightweight, and ready to use without configuration. The Smart Tripod is ready to use no matter where your adventures might take you.

Hand Gesture Recognition

  • Designed and implemented a Hand Gesture Recognition system on the Raspberry Pi, involved developing and fine-tuning machine learning models to recognize and interpret various hand gestures.
  • Inferred hand gesture using the MediaPipe pre-trained model.
  • Programmed timer and photo capture subsystem.
